About this opportunity

You don’t have to have completed an internship to work at a bank. UBS offer the apprenticeship alternative to a career in financial services. You'll earn a salary working in the exciting and fast-paced environment of investment banking.

A normal day will differ from role to role, but typically will include:
You will provide comprehensive support to senior members of the EMEA corporate access team, being directly involved in organising and planning for corporate access events. You will work closely with the event marketing team in arranging internal and external conferences.

• Identify key investment themes to create bespoke high value events for UBS' top equity clients
• Maintain and update corporate pitch books and presentations
• Handle incoming client requests, both internal and external
• Analyse equity shareholder data to determine potential institutional new buyer’s equities
• Understand MiFID II and other regulatory frameworks to determine how you can deliver optimal service to investors
• Become skilled in IT systems used to track service delivery for investors and detect potential problems
• Assist the corporate access team in overseeing a client database for all event opportunities
• Prepare presentations for the head of corporate access
• Assist in the implementation of conferences including the flagship European conference

This is exciting opportunity to take your first steps into the world of investment banking - an apprenticeship with a truly global firm, one which won 'Highly Commended' and was included in the 'Top 100 Employers' list at the 2015 National Apprenticeship Awards. UBS has over 900 offices in over 50 countries, and have been helping clients for over 150 years.

Your team – Corporate Access Execution (Support):
You’ll be working within the EMEA Corporate Access team of UBS Investment Bank. You'll join a team who are directly involved in providing access to corporates for our clients in equities – either as part of a roadshow, a 1-1 meeting or through a field trip across different locations that would be tailored specifically for the client. You will also be involved in organising the flagship European conference for UBS which takes place annually, attracting over 2000 clients.
• You will understand the importance of corporate access to the investment process
• You will gain key customer service skills in dealing with corporates and investors
• Your tasks will centre around helping the team in managing and coordinating projects
• You will gain an understanding of the investment bank’s business model, learn about purpose and technical content of the key financial market
• You will become skilled in the systems and processes required to deliver the corporate access outcomes

What you could go on to do
Your career development and professional qualifications don’t stop after the apprenticeship. Focused and determined individuals will be able to attain further qualifications - equivalent to a degree – and when your training is complete, you will take on the role of corporate access analyst with the opportunity to take ownership for selected projects and tasks.

How you will be supported
Full training and support will be provided by our expert training and assessment staff at The Skills Company. Onsite support will be provided by your line manager, team, mentor and HR.
