This apprentice role will be to participate and provide a full and comprehensive day service for adults with learning disabilities, assisting individuals with personal needs including meal time support and some personal care.
A normal day would include;
• Helping to develop individual programmes
• Supporting individuals to participate in all activities by providing appropriate support
• Ensuring the dignity and respect of individuals is maintained while providing personal care and lunch time support
• Working alongside the lead support worker to ensure the sessions and activities are safe
• Ensuring sessions and activities are sensitive to cultural traditions and values
• Working alongside the lead support worker to develop close working relations with all persons involved e.g. families, social workers, therapists, so that the needs of the individual are met effectively
• Working as a member of a team in the project and the organisation
Rochdale Gateway have been providing a specialist service to individuals with learning disabilities and their parents and carers for over 20 years.

There is the opportunity of a full-time post, and the chance to progress to a level 3 apprenticeship.
