Our Access to HE courses in a range of subjects offer flexible learning opportunities for adults who are wishing to return to education, looking for a career change or don’t have the required qualifications to be accepted on to a university course. These nationally recognised Level 3 qualifications will also prepare you for higher-level study.

When will I attend?

Attendance is required on the following days:

  • Monday 10:00am - 2:30pm
  • Tuesday 10:00am - 2:30pm
  • Friday 10:00am - 2:30pm
What will I achieve?

On successful completion you will achieve a Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health and Social Care (Counselling and Psychology pathway)

What are the entry requirements?
  • Applicants must be over 19
  • We would usually expect adult learners to have maths and English at Level 1 or equivalent,  although we will also welcome applicants with overseas qualifications and/or relevant life experience

The course will improve your academic, vocational and personal skills; it will also improve your CV and boost your confidence. Successful candidates will be awarded a nationally recognised Access to HE Diploma awarded by Ascentis. The diploma is approved by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and is accepted for entry to a wide range of universities and higher education institutions.

What does the course cost?

If you are aged 19 – 23 without a full level 3 qualification you will be eligible for full funding through the Skills Funding Agency.

If you are aged 19-23 and already have A Levels, or other Level 3 qualifications, or if you are 24 or over, you can apply for course fees to be paid through Student Finance England (SFE). SFE will write off the outstanding balance for your Access to HE Diploma loan once you complete your degree.
